6:30AM - Woke up early to prepare. Made sure that I’m prepared.

7:20AM - Took a jeep to the Baclaran LRT Station. Arrived at around 8:00AM, took a short walk to the station after getting off the jeep. Damn, the place is still so dirty and full of vendors even after all of these years. I don’t think this will change in my lifetime. Take note NOT to bring any bling while walking there. You might not walk out with anything afterwards.

8:10AM - Arrived at the venue, De La Salle University - College of St. Benilde. There was a short line when I arrived for registration, due to some minor issues at security. Got helped out by Blogie Robillo (one of the organizers). Had my first encounter with the organizing team, helpful bunch. One even escorted me when I asked  where the canteen is. (I didn’t eat breakfast, had to rush)

8:30AM - Went up to the conference hall and got my camper ID. Looks nice! They even had scanners to scan the IDs upon entry for verification of entrance. System looks pretty nice!

9:00AM - Main event has not started yet. A few more minutes to go!

9:30AM - Decided to play some WoW, managed to log in but program has started. The Dean of IT Management for CSB made the opening speech for the event followed by an introduction to Wordcamp by Blogie Robillo. The main host was Migs Hipolito.

Shaked the hand of Matt Mullenweg. Saludos!

Off to the break-away sessions I go!

9:50AM - Took the “Creating WordPress Themes and CSS Power” session with Gail Villanueva. She’s having a hard time presenting the concepts due to some technical issues, mainly with the projector (it was too blurry). Learned a lot of concepts regarding the WordPress layout and themes. Maybe this will get me started on creating a decent layout for this site. Maybe.

10:50AM - The next course I took is “Building a Community Blog” by Blogie Robillo. The talk is mostly on how to create a community of bloggers with a central theme (ideas, blogs, location, etc) and how to promote it.

11:20AM - The last session I took is “Wordpress and SEO” with Hans Koch. The talk was mostly on how to promote blogs on major search engines to promote visibility. Rather interesting, might implement some on the site!

12:30PM - Had lunch, care of Chowking. Nothing fancy, just some Shanghai Lauriat and a cupcake. Spot had a contest asking what was the secret ingredient for their cupcakes. I answered L-O-V-E of course.

1:00PM - Finally, the Plenary Sessions! Matt Mullenweg gave the “State of the Word”, basically like a state of the nation address for WordPress. Lots of interesting facts.

3:00PM - Aileen Apolo at the mic with some information about Google Analytics. More SEO knowledge! FTW. Won a Google shirt by the way. Kapal lang ng mukha ang kailangan.

4:20PM - Last session! “Web Standards and WordPress” by Regnard Raquedan. Basically an overview of how web standards may make your life easier.

5:30PM - End of the big day, had a group picture with all of the Wordcampers.

First of all, the download comes in at a measly 474KB. Pretty small, but when you start it up, it downloads the rest of the program. A bit deceptive, but the download was quite fast. Works for me!

Google mentioned on their Chrome page that they developed a new Javascript engine for faster Javascript response, so I’m gonna try browsing some Javascript-heavy sites:

Plurk: Hmm… response was almost the same as Firefox, except response was just a wee bit faster, by a margin of only a few seconds.

Yahoo Webmessenger: My goodness, the flash on this site makes most slow computers cry. I tried opening it up, but as soon as the flash app loaded, it froze. That was, until I saw all of the offline messages my account got. But still, responsive.

Danny Choo: Took a while to render the images. Fast, but not much faster than Firefox.

I really didn’t have too much test scenarios to start with. I’ll put in some more findings later. At the moment, it’s lighter than Firefox, but not that much faster. Looking good though.

Dammit.

In any case, 3G internet is an excellent way to get access in case of emergencies. W00t.

OK, so a 15 month old baby was starved to death for not saying ‘amen’. Which is pretty idiotic since most children that age can hardly speak, and when they do its normally random words or phrases. The whole idea of starving a 15 month old baby for not saying amen after meals just turns my insides out. I’d happily smack the face of the people responsible for this. Oh, here’s the big clincher I was talking about….

One of the people responsible was Javon’s mother!

That’s right ladies and gents! His very own mother. Javon’s mother joined the “1 Mind Ministries” a cult in the USA. Some cultists include his own mother refused to feed the child because he wouldn’t say amen after meals.

Children rescued from the cult said that the cultists saw baby Javon as “a demon”. What is this, the exorcist? The child could barely walk at that age, and you called him a demon? Spineless twits. No help was saught for Javon when he stopped beathing while in his mothers own hands. I can just imagine the emotional burden of having your own baby die right on your own hands, but I’m not sure thats the case here. What do you think she was feeling then? Sad that her own son wouldn’t say amen in order to sup from his mothers breasts? Fuck that whore didn’t deserve to be a mother!

Not only that, informants said that the cult leader, a self proclaimed Queen Antoinette, left the baby’s body at a room for more than a week claiming that ‘God was going to raise Javon from the dead’. She then burned all the bed sheets, and put the body inside a green suit case that she would carry around until the body revived, opening it only to spray disinfectant. Obviously, she was just covering up her fucked up mistake.

Let this incident teach us something at the very least. Lets not be blindly devoted to something. God gave you a brain, USE IT! You should know whats best for your child, not some idiot cultist whos out to prove she can make you do anything she wants.

Earlier today, Pokwang and her fellow crap hall of famer Willie Revilliame went on air to make a statement against their rival Joey de Leon. Apparently Joey has been indirectly calling her an “Aswang” on air. For those of you who are not familiar with it, its a creature from Filipino mythology similar to vampires lady. The aswangs have human bodies during the day, but at night they split in half at the waist. The upper body grows giant bat wings and flys out to look for prey much like a vampire too. Normally, they are depcited as being ugly old ladies with long wavy hair.Below are some pics of what people think they look like.

Anyway, Pokwang and Willie went on-air. Of course they were crying. Apparently, lots of people like the fact that Joey calls her aswang. The classmates of Pokwangs daughter were saying her mom is an Aswang. They of course started to beg Joey to stop this. What the hell? You think they wouldn’t make fun of her if Joey didn’t? I’m sure they would. Hell I’m sure I would, and I know others who would, too. In fact, I’d tell her daughter her mom was a lot of worse things than an aswang.

Do you really expect people to respect you if you act like a fool on public TV all the time? What kind of an image do you think you’re projecting? What kind of person would respect you if you go on TV purposely looking like this….

if your goal is to make people laugh at you for a living, expect that people will make fun of your kids for that. Get some respect idiot, and until you do, don’t go around expecting people to respect you OR your kids.

You may make a lot of money, but I guess your kids are the ones who’re gonna pay the price for your way of life. Sort of how the children of prostitutes get made fun of.
