The Deadbeats

As most of you may have known already (kudos for living under a rock if you don’t) Diablo 3 is currently under development. From the looks of it, it’s gonna be a damned fine game, one that may get me to finally buy a gaming rig. (I’ve been holding out)

I’ve been a big fan of Diablo ever since the first game, and being an early teen back then, it was a pretty scary game. I remember being spooked just wandering through the Level 5 catacombs corridors, especially since Diablo featured a unique lighting system.

Come the 2nd game, it lost the horror, but it hooked me on the storyline. Although I admit that Diablo II lost a lot of charm with the large environments. I missed the rather deliberate slowness of the first game.

I can’t wait to adventure in Sanctuary again. Woohooo! GO BLIZZARD! Me gonna play a Barbarian again!

Ah, gaming. What a cruel mistress you be.

As we all know, games, PCs and consoles are the major drivers in the total gaming market which earns billions of dollars yearly. The current generation of consoles really pushes the envelope for gaming, with processing quality almost equal or equal to a moderately powered PC. PCs keep getting faster and better at processing and rendering graphics.

Games on the other hand drive consoles and PCs to new heights as game designers really churn out good content to run on the machines.

Moving onwards, here’s my take on why it’s so difficult to be a gamer here in the Philippines. Read more after the jump.
